Hi Annabelle, I was one of the "scary lesbians" you met in York, UK a few months ago (in fact I was the violin-playing one with innapropriate questions...) I was just wondering if you have a twitter page? I'd love to keep up with your movements (in a non-stalkerish way of course!) Cori xxx

Hi Annabelle, Do you remember meeting me at a bus stop/terminal in a Toronto suburb in August 2002. I told you I was on my way to compete in race/regatta for disabled people in Kingston called the Mobility cup. I had recently been diagnosed with MS. I think you were heading back to Montreal. You told me you were a musician about to, or just having completed a recording. You said you wrote music a bit like Veda Hille. I said I really liked her. I told you I was a 3D visual artist who made objects and installations. I had an MFA from UCLA and a couple of Canada council grants and was plugging away trying to ‘make it”; whatever that meant to me at the time. You told me about a video festival in Montreal I might be interested in. What I remember most about our conversation was the deep, sincere wish we both had for each other to succeed in our chosen disciplines. What I remember about you is your kindness and integrity. Then you got on one bus I got on another, yet somehow, hours later, we both ended up running into each other again at another bus station, perhaps it was Kingston. We were pleased to run each other had a coffee together until your bus left. We exchanged names and addresses and hugged each other goodbye like old friends. It was one of those very deep, momentary connections that become like a precious little pebble you find on a trip, that you put into your pocket and years later you still have and cherish. Though I never forgot you, I somehow how misplaced your address, somewhere in my papers and until last week, I couldn’t even remember your name. Then I heard a song of yours on CBC radio and remembered. I am really happy for you and your success. There is something so very satisfying about hearing about someone’s wishes for themselves, and later seeing those wishes manifest. As for myself, I went through a difficult time with my health but I am still plugging away at my work. And who know where this will take me but perhaps one day you’ll have the similar experience of walking into the Musee d’art de Contemporain and recognizing my name. Writing in your guest book is such an odd and uncharacteristic thing for me to do but I didn’t know how else to contact you. I may find your address someday cleaning my office, but until then, I wanted to say hi and tell you I think your music is amazing and perhaps remind you of a moment in your life you have most likely forgotten. I wish you all the best in your future.

Pleeaase come back to Winnipeg. It isn't as cold as people say. I have your cd in my car and always put on Resilience. I love it and the kids love it too. I was driving them to school today and made a comment that I must have forgotten my brain, and my 5 yr old son said from the backseat "Did you leave it on the side of the road?" With fans like us how can you resist? I would be very willing to have a house concert.

I brought you home with me from Felton under the covers of Resilience. We've been singing together every day since. Such wonderfulness! Come back soon.
Just saw you at Don Quixote's. Loaded "Resilience" onto my iPod and it's hardly been out of my ears since. Lovely stuff. Can't wait to hear/see what you will do next.

You're awesome! Please check out www.wholewheatradio.org and consider sending your wonderful music... and then come to North Texas for a show or two.

What a beautiful song, Annabelle. I have thought about so many times over the years and wondered what happened to you! Your mom sent out a message that you would be performing in Toronto this week, but I'm not able to come that night. I had no idea about your amazing career. CCOC days are long behind you now!
Congratulations,
Your old friend, Wendy (Tidy)

Annabelle, your Journal entries for the U.K. and even more for Eastern Europe are a delight to read, so evocative, so rich in the small details that make a place come alive. I can truly visualize those places and imagine myself there with you. Thanks for sharing. i.

Annabelle, when are you coming back to The Pas, Mb? Seriously. I play Resilience often and it is really growing on me. Fantastic. Played it today after work and it completely lifted my spirits. Thank you very much.

Never been to a folk festival before, the first thing we saw was a magical charismatic Canadian with dark hair and a red shirt and the result was WOW! Loved it. Great meeting you and haven't stopped playing the CD since. Thanks for a great evening and when you are next back in the UK will try to get to see you again, here's to your next album.

I discover you through youtube.... "I left my brain" is the baddest, best, sweetest, saddest happy blues piece. Where can I get the lyrics.... I can't quite get some of the bridges... I build and play cigar box guitars with an emphasis on old blues, stomps, hollars, call/response gospel... You have made me smile... thanks.... Wichita Sam

Annabelle - what can we say? All the good burghers of Wisborough Green are now fans. Thanks so much to you and Jeremie and Tony for Sunday's gig. Really looking forward to the Green Note tonight.

Annabelle, what a lovely intimate gig at Alan's place on Sunday. I found your voice quite moving particularly in the excellent Resilience. Ceri and I are spreading word of you far and wide (well amongst a few choice mates anyway). Will see you again at the Green Note tonight.
