Scotland misses you! :-( It's beautiful this time of year. England has nothing on us. Come up North! Seriously, though, next time you're in the UK PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE come to Scotland.

I used to work in small-town community theatre and I've seen close-up the virulent hand of the fundamentalists at work. Unprincipled people screaming morality while doing their utmost to absolutely screw people into the ground, generally for their own profit. Good on you for not doing the tour. Peace and love.

I just got back from Sirens of Song and was disappointed when they told us you "weren't able to attend". I understand your decision, and I hold no ill will, but I bought the tickets to see you and Catherine McLellan and would have loved to hear you play as well.
I hope you have plans to come to Edmonton soon, I'll be there

Hi annabelle,
i heard from you the first time through the friend lists of myspace. In your music i mostly like the mandolin grooves for example in Resilience very much, this has a special feeling, full of warmth and beauty. I'm a guitarist from Kassel, Germany and my favourite style is fusion, i love indian music and all grooves from countries like morroco etc. and i try to integrate them into my music (and sometimes play electric mandolin). Although i play country styles very rarely (once i accompanied a canadian female singer from Vancouver), i love when it comes out the way you do. May the music be with as long as you will (and sorry about my english)! Love,
Jürgen Fromm

Hello Annabelle. Thanks for coming to play for us at "Brampton live" last week. I had a lovely weekend and enjoyed your set immensely. I was the tongue-tied oaf who bumbled up to you at the CD counter after you'd finished playing - Cumbrian ale - finest on the planet but not without side effects. Anyway, the copy of "Resilience" you sold me is being played repeatedly - full of little gems and totally devoid of duck eggs. The festival blurb described you as "contemporary urban folk alchemy". Listening to tracks like "The Sioux", "Nashville" and "I left my brain", I'd say that some of that urban base metal has been transformed into country gold. It suits you. "Seven years" - delightful. Anyway, you're a lovely lass and I hope you'll come and play for us again soon - Canada's not that far, is it? Look after yourself.

Hi, Annabelle. We met in Chico and it was a great expierence for me. I want to thank you again for playing "Seven Years" and letting me jot down the chords. I've been working on it since and I'm about 80% there. I am an open-mic whore, as my friends and I like to call ourselves, and I already do "Swallow", so I would like to add "Seven Years". Of course, whenever I do "Swallow" I do give much info about you to the audience and recommend your CD to them. About "Seven Years", I know it's about a break-up, but I find the melody beautiful. And what you do vocally there in the middle of the song when you sing "...run". I really like what you do there, it kinda adds a (for lack of a better word) sparkle. I love your lyrical style, and actually, all that you do. Thank you for your music and thank you for talking to me. Stay well, I'll continue to enlighten everyone about Annabelle Chvostek, and I hope to see you again. Rey from Reno. p.s. my next project will be "The Sioux".

Annabelle, it was a pleasure to meet you in Fort Collins, and to be turned on to your music. Your song "The Sioux" has been going round and round in my cd player, along with the whole Resilence album. I had the pleasure of taking the train from Sault Ste. Marie when I was kid vacationing in the UP with my parents from Detroit. The song is beautiful. I look forward to seeing you again sometime, and certainly, hearing more of your music. Be well. -Brandon

Any chance of fitting in a San Francisco gig between your gigs on 10th and 13th June??? If so that would be awesome! Ta

Hi Annabelle - part of me is almost disappointed you've started twittering - not because your tweets won't be fun, but because (a) I might have to sign up for twitter, and (b) one thing I've always liked about your journal on this site is that you don't write in it too often, so every post is rich and deep.
Speaking of rich and deep, if you're into the southwestern USA, I highly recommend reading "Death Comes for the Archbishop" by Willa Cather - if you haven't already... classic literature from early last century - her work always feels to me like a series of clear, brilliant paintings.

Hey
Would love to see you back in Winnipeg! I would do a house party. Perfect time of year right now, no snow, no mosquitos.

Geez, Annabelle, you somehow slipped under my musical radar. I was at a Bruce Cockburn show earlier this month and they were playing this music before the show. I was hypnotized. I got to meet Bruce after the show, and my one and only question was "what was playing before the show?"-he laughed and went on and on about you and your album, (along with writing some songs with you). GREAT stuff!-Mark

Pleeease come back to Ottawa? I missed you when you were here last (actually only found out about if AFTERWARDS). If you get a moment, I would adore hearing you live. I promise to sing along to every single song (not too lound of course) and I'll even do my best to gather up a posse!
